An intelligent horror
Pitch:
The 8th century Old English epic poem Beowulf is reinvented as a modern-day thoughtful slasher horror.
Logline:
Beowulf fears for his business empire's survival when only he sees a threat from a growing demographic's indifferent to his products. He must personally take up arms to repel this threat to all he knows and understands.
Horror of the unknown is the driver here.
The story brings together the Dracula and the Frankenstein myths in order to explore how we're controlled these days not by subjugation but through liberation and identification.
Target audience: High-end horror fans.
“Inventive and interesting.”
